Replacement switchgear was supplied by the client and was modified to suit the specific tier requirements by our technicians prior to the shutdown.
With only a week’s notice Teck Global provided a complete work pack for the shutdown works consisting of a schedule, test report pack, drawing modifications to suit the provided panels and support for shutdown coordination. Two teams were provided for 24 hour shutdown coverage.
As part of shutdown preparations SAT was completed on the switchboard to ensure operational readiness. Post installation (Ductor and Insulation Resistance) tests across the entire board to ensure equipment was safe to energize. Each tier’s modifications were verified, and all circuit breakers injection tested as part of the commissioning process once installed.
To compress the shutdown schedule day and night shift teams of engineers and electricians were provided by Teck Global. Works were completed continuously and efficiently, with existing equipment removed and replacement switchgear installed, tested and put into service within 60 hours of the shutdown commencing. A full handover pack was provided to the client along with as built drawings and test results.
